I love this, Tansie. The leaf collection reminds me of the "salads" my boys used to make for me from collected leaves and nuts and seeds they'd find beneath the trees at the school bus stop in the park in Fiji. Such precious moments and sacred times. 💕

Ah this was lovely and feels like the tropical equivalent of our meanders through the ancient woodland near our home. It is one of my favourite places in the world and I love spending time there. Thank you for the reminder to embrace the aimlessness and the back and forth pace of my children! xx

Oohh having a woodland near your home must be so special. The few years we’ve taken the boys to their grandparents in the UK they are close to a woodland too and I loved spending mornings there with them exploring. Something so calming about being beneath the canopy of green. X

Lovely, as always Tansie. I still have the leaf that Sonny found on his morning walk with you and gave to me for my birthday when we visited you in Margaret River 2023 xxx

Such precious memories, I miss that bush walk I used to do with the boys. It was such a grounding part of our day.

I love this invitation, I am going to try it this week! I love the idea of the leaf book, that may be an activity to try this fall.

I love the way you describe these walks as unconscious meditations, Tansie. Before my son was born, the older children and I used to go to the river to do what we playfully termed "Neanderthal runs", where we would sprint the length of a stretch of rocks, dirt path, and fallen trees. The running was splendid, but so were the moments in between when we'd happen upon a place to stop and rest while getting nose-to-nose with all the brilliance of the woods and boulders around us.

Neanderthal runs! What an amazing thing! It brings straight to mind when my brothers and I would ‘rock hop’ running a long boulders as fast as we could, it’s such an exhilarating feeling and a great way to really connect in with your own body. What a magical thing you introduced to them x
