Ahhh so beautiful Tansie, I loved reading this introduction to your wonderful writing and I am in love with your Substack world, see you on the terrace with a cuppa! With you and the wildness of the early years (mine are 4 and 2) and also the anchoring of the seasons. I love your mother’s wisdom and often find that I am repeating to myself, “there is a time for everything”. I suppose learning how to sit with things and realise that the time will come is one of my continuing learnings of motherhood. That and softening to the mayhem! Much love to you xx
Oh thank you Lyndsay, I’m quite a bit in love with yours too!! Oh we are at such a similar stage with the age of our kids. Yep, those words are my mantra every time I’m struggling. And whenever I give in to the season, life gets so much better 💛
Raising two boys over here that are 5 and 2! Wondering why no one wants to get dressed, brush their teeth, just working really hard to instill a sense of personal hygiene and all the other things! xx 😘
Oohhh the hygiene thing is wild isn’t it! My boys scalps fill up with so much crap because they won’t let me wash their hair regularly, so every 3 months I just tackle them in the shower and get it done 😂
This is beautiful. I actually went back and read through your whole Substack after subscribing...your perspective is a breath of fresh air and your momma's wisdom sounds very much like my own mother! We're right here in the fierceness of the non-aesthetic but TOTALLY beautiful toddler life, and I love it.
Awww thanks Jan! How good is momma wisdom, my mum calls it common sense parenting! Haha yes it is a beautiful life when you let go of it looking aesthetic 😂
There is so much in this post that I can relate to!

Absolutely wild. Mine too. Why do they hate getting their hair washed?!
Hahaha boys are grubs!
I love your writing so much! Thank you for sharing this and creating space for mothers, I cannot wait to read what comes!

Thank you! And thanks for being my editor 😉 💛
Anytime! I was actually an editor of sorts in a former life so I'm always happy to put on that old hat 😊
Oohhh how I can’t wait to dive in to the mystery’s of our past lives!!
Same! And maybe at a writer's festival! Living the dream! 🤩
