This sounds truly magical! I had one of those days yesterday, a Saturday. Most of our neighbors have children the same age as my own. We went on a family bike ride in the neighborhood, and kept gaining riders as kids saw us and rode their own bikes down their driveway to meet us. The kids ended up playing together in our yard, and their wooded fort, all day. They played from morning until dinner, only going home for lunch and coming right back. As I worked in the garden and heard their laughter all day, it was pure magic.

What an absolute dream Kasannah, how lucky are you to have a neighbourhood with so many kids in it. I love when these things just happen organically, it sounds like something fromour own childhood which seems to be getting rarer and rarer. x

The most precious things in life truly do cost us nothing (at least as far as money is concerned). ♥️

This sounds and looks like such a joy! From the beautiful surroundings, to the dynamics of the play within the group, the parenting alongside others…all so dreamy. Love to you! xx

You had me at 'At our beach, at our Magic Beach...' ☺️

Aren't these golden moments the greatest gifts of unschooling?! Regular, long days spent immersed in play in the natural world. Soul filling on so many levels. I am right with you Tansie!

Yes! Alison Lester is just the best!

And yes again, we have to pass the international school on our way to the main road and I've been getting quite the kick out of watching all the parent's driving in for drop off and us driving out to get to the beach! It feels so good to be takiing the kids to use nature as our classroom.

Beautiful,Tansie. What an amazing childhood you guys are providing. I'm currently reading Gerald Durrells 'My family and other animals' and can sense similarities with Gerald's childhood life on Corfu exploring the natural world.

Thanks Richard,

Save that book and bring it over to me when you come to visit please, I think I would enjoy it! I hope I'm providing the kids with a life good enough for a memoir x

Love this Tansie! My son River is never happier than when he’s out in nature leading us on an adventure, wading through puddles and mud ❤️
